MudBugCo Tours
Welcome to MudBugCo Tours. These tours require Google Earth, (click here to download and install on your computer.) For the tour list and Google Earth configuration settings, read more.
Google Earth Notes:
-
Google Earth imagery is delivered online, therefore the speed of your internet connection will affect tour speed and resolution
-
Google Earh updates their imagery from time to time. If the image is blurry, try running the tour later in the day ... or the next day.
-
The image data is loaded into memory and disk cache. Running the tour more than once will load the cache and improve performance.
-
Google Earth is a memory hog. Having lots of applications open will impede performance and/or crash the tour.

TOUR OPERATION:
-
Click on a tour from the above list.
-
A dialog box will appear giving you the option to "Open", "Save", or "Cancel." Click "Open." Google Earth will automatically launch on your computer and you will see a KMZ file (*.kmz) in your "Temporary Places" folder. The layout of the KMZ (see example below) is preconfigured for the tour. Changing the settings (check marks, etc.) will change the look of the tour.
-
Double-click on the KMZ file to see the "Tour" and its relevant "Places."

-
Before running the tour, check your "Layers" settings. Most tours are designed to have the "Layers" settings configured with Roads, Populated Places, and Terrain checked (see image below.) Changes in those settings will be noted with the individual tour. Having additional items checked beyond these recommendedations can radically change the look of the tour.

-
Double-click the "Tour" listed in the KMZ file and enjoy the ride. If you have questions, contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
